“The only thing we have to fear is fear itself”

From
the 14th until the 27th of February 2011 Erna Omarsdottir is working in
the studio of wpZimmer, to do research for her new creation We Saw Monsters (working title).
Erna
and her team aim to create a sort of carnival universe in collaboration
with the visual artist Gabriela Fridriksdottir, in which the various
forms of horror and fear will appear, reality- or fiction-based, which
will meld together and form a whole.
In this
world many strange, horrifying creatures live. There are twins who feel
each other’s pain and emotions, their doppelgangers who fear their own
reflections, the Icelandic creature Tilberi who has lost his maker, and a
bitter Danish demon who must bully everybody to cover his own fear of
denial. They are there to frighten the audience, but at the same time
they must come to terms with their own fears.
They will lead the audience on a journey through the unknown, asking it to face its fear as well as conquering it.
